Bernhard Wicki
Memorial Fund

Education, tolerance and international understanding – carried by a cinematic legacy that still gives us orientation today.

“Those who put their existence or even their lives at stake to oppose crimes against humanity, the abuse of power and arbitrary rule are the true heroes throughout all ages.”
– Bernhard Wicki
Our mission

Remember. Understand.
Take responsibility.

The Bernhard Wicki Memorial Fund e.V., based in Munich, was founded in 2001 by Elisabeth Wicki-Endriss – the widow of Bernhard Wicki, who passed away in 2000.

The purpose of the association is to promote education, tolerance and international understanding based on Bernhard Wicki’s cinematic legacy and its themes – in particular the promotion of art and culture in the field of socially engaged film advocating tolerance and human rights.

At the same time, the fund works to give young people guidance through the medium of film – for their formation of identity and for the conscious decision against any form of violence and persecution.
